Hometown Training™  What is it?

An instructor and the trained guide dog will go directly to the home of the blind person. The two will be trained to travel as a team confidently and safely.

Why Train at Home?

This personalized way of training can make all the difference for blind people who cannot, without hardship, sacrifice job income, forgo domestic responsibilities or travel.

How is it Customized?

This one-on-one training program is tailored to meet each blind person’s specific travel needs as well as the needs of those with additional disabilities. Special attention is given to routes most traveled.

Special attention is given to routes most traveled, such as, to work, school, church, etc. The training includes walking routes and can involve different forms of public transportation. There is absolutely no cost to the client.
