Sponsorship Overview

Enhance your image with customers and demonstrate a commitment to social responsibility by working with Freedom Guide Dogs to create a customized partnership from which we can both benefit.  Over the past few years Freedom Guide Dogs has grown exponentially. We could not have done it without the help and generosity of our dedicated supporters. We placed a record 32 guide dogs with blind people in 2011, have 47 active puppy raisers and employ a staff of 9, including two certified trainers and a Director of Training. With program growth, there comes a need for financial growth. While Freedom still depends on the generous support of our individual donors, corporate funding would give Freedom the stability for continued growth in our specialized Hometown Training TM program. Back

That’s $1 a day! You spend more on your morning cup of coffee! So why not put that $1 toward something that’s going to make a difference in someone’s life? Below are some more reasons to invest $1 a day in Freedom.

Family Values
Freedom was started by husband and wife, Eric and Sharon Loori nearly 20 years ago. In addition to running a non-profit organization to help serve the blind and visually impaired, they are raising three children including two with Downs Syndrome, one of which they adopted.

Local
The organization, located 20 minutes south of Utica in Cassville, NY is now placing guide dogs throughout the Eastern U.S. Visit the Central Association for the Blind in Utica and see several of our clients with their guides. We also have concentrations of clients in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and other cities across the state. In addition to having clients locally, Freedom has a host of local volunteer Puppy Raisers that house and care for our future Freedom Guides. You will also see the guide dog trainers working the dogs all over the area including downtown Utica, New Hartford, Cooperstown and Syracuse.

Continually Growing
In the past few years, Freedom has hired two apprentice trainers (now fully certified) and a Director of Training. Freedom placed 29 guide dogs with blind people in 2010  and 32 guide dogs in 2011.  We are on track to place a record 34 guide dog teams in 2012!  In addition to growing our staff and client base, Freedom has grown its volunteer base as well. We currently have over fifty active puppy raisers! That’s more than fifty people sharing in the journey of raising a Freedom Guide Dog!
